Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor About Your Meetings

You already ask an AI assistant to draft emails, plan your week and think through problems. The one thing it doesn't know is what was said in your meetings: the price you agreed, who owns the follow-up, what the customer actually asked for.
Spellar now fixes that. Spellar has an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol can read your Spellar meetings and answer from them. You stay in the assistant you already use; it asks Spellar for what it needs.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to the apps that hold your data. Instead of copying a transcript into a chat, you connect the app once. From then on the assistant can look things up itself, the same way you would open Spellar and search.
An MCP server offers the assistant a set of tools: "search meetings", "get transcript", "list action items" and so on. When you ask a question, the assistant decides which tools to call, reads the result and answers you, usually naming the meeting it took the answer from.

How it works
- You connect once. You give your assistant Spellar's server address and sign in to Spellar. There is no API key to copy.
- You choose what it may do. Spellar shows which assistant is asking and what it wants to read. Changing anything is a separate choice, item by item.
- You ask in plain language. "What did we decide in Monday's sync?" The assistant searches your meetings, opens the right one and answers.
Your recordings stay in Spellar. The assistant only gets what it asks for to answer a question, and only while the connection exists.
What you can ask
- "What did we decide in my last meeting?"
- "What price did we agree with the customer on Thursday's call?"
- "List my open action items that are due this week, and which meeting each came from."
- "Prepare me for my next meeting from earlier notes with the same people."
- "Find the meeting where we talked about pricing and quote what was said."
- "What exactly did the customer ask for in the security review?" (answers with quotes and timestamps from the transcript)
The assistant can read your meetings with their summaries and notes, full transcripts with speakers and timestamps, action items with owners and due dates, weekly recaps, folders and tags, and your upcoming calendar events.
Connect your assistant
The server address is the same everywhere:
https://mcp.spellar.ai/mcp
Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
Spellar is listed in Claude's connector directory: open it, press Connect, sign in to Spellar and allow access. Or add it by hand:
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the address above.
- Press Connect, sign in to Spellar and allow access.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector first; members then connect their own accounts.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins and press +.
- Choose Add custom MCP server and paste the address above.
- Create the plugin and sign in to Spellar when asked.
Custom MCP servers in ChatGPT depend on your ChatGPT plan and, in a workspace, on your admin's settings.
Cursor
Open Cursor Settings → MCP, add a server and use the address above as its URL, or add this to mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"spellar": { "url": "https://mcp.spellar.ai/mcp" }
}
}
Signed in to Spellar? There is a one-click Add to Cursor button in Settings.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code, pick spellar and sign in:
claude mcp add --transport http spellar https://mcp.spellar.ai/mcp
Any other MCP client
Use the address above with the Streamable HTTP transport. The client discovers sign-in on its own.
You decide what it can change

An assistant reads by default. On the screen where you approve the connection, you can also let it:
- mark an action item done, or edit its wording, owner or due date;
- add a note to a meeting;
- rename, tag or file a meeting;
- create a share link for a meeting (off unless you turn it on).
Each is a separate checkbox. Leave one unticked and the assistant is never offered that tool. And whatever you tick, no assistant can delete anything in Spellar: no meeting, note or action item.
So you can say "mark the pilot agreement action item as done" or "tag the pricing call as Renewal", and it happens in Spellar. Most assistants also ask you to confirm before they make a change.
Privacy
- Nothing is shared until you allow it on Spellar's consent screen.
- What the assistant reads is sent to that assistant's provider and handled under its terms and your settings there.
- Meeting text is passed to the assistant as data. Spellar tells assistants not to treat what was said in a meeting as instructions.
- See and remove every connected assistant in Settings. Disconnecting takes effect immediately.
What you need
- A Spellar account on a paid plan. During the free trial it works for your recent meetings.
- An assistant that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in.
